Workshop Overview

Do you design and lead learning for your staff and/or district? Is part of your role facilitating If so, this day is for you! This session will support you in planning and facilitating effective and engaging learning for adults. Through focusing on connecting, planning and facilitating adult learning, we will explore these three critical components in depth and experience all that is required to ensure a successful learning event. The agenda will ensure time for participants to apply their learning to a session they are leading in the near future. Please bring any materials that you may need to design your next presentation or workshop. A number of planning tools will be shared to assist in creation and design. Come ready for a fun-filled day of learning through experience and walk away with a completed plan for an upcoming adult learning session you will be leading.

Who Should Attend

Administrators, teacher leaders, district leaders, instructional leaders, coaches. We'd welcome anyone who leads adult learning at the school or district level.

About the Facilitator

Lorna Hewson is an educator with two decades of experience in schools and is currently a Lead Learner with Jigsaw Learning. Receiving her BEd degree from the University of Calgary, she completed her MEd degree from the University of Lethbridge in Educational Leadership. Prior to her current position, Lorna served as an elementary teacher, a divisional lead teacher, Facilitator, Coordinator, Director of Student Learning Services with Livingstone Range School Division and Coordinator of Inclusive Services with Wolf Creek Public Schools.
