Grasslands School Division is entering year four of its comprehensive support plan to strengthen Collaborative Response practices across the district. This year’s efforts will focus on enhancing school leadership, providing formative feedback, and continuing to implement Collaborative Response at both the school and systems levels.
Key elements of the support plan include:
- School Leadership Sessions: Three half-day sessions will be held to support leadership teams in enhancing the Collaborative Response framework.
- Comprehensive School Collaborative Response Formative Feedback: Eight remaining schools will receive tailored feedback to improve their meeting structures, data usage, and support continuums.
- Systems-Level Support: Continuation of Collaborative Response at the systems level with three half-day sessions to support district-wide needs.
- Collaborative Response Membership: Schools will renew their membership to access ongoing resources and professional learning support.
School leaders, along with student services teams, will participate in two leadership mornings facilitated by Lorna Hewson, focused on refining their implementation of Collaborative Response. Through the district's partnership with Jigsaw Learning, additional divisional leadership supports and resources will be developed to sustain these practices.
“We’re excited to continue deepening Collaborative Response practices in Grasslands, with a focus on leadership development and tailored feedback to ensure every school is fully supported,”
- Lorna Hewson, Lead Learner and Co-Founder, Jigsaw Learning
“Our partnership and collaboration with Jigsaw Learning continues to be an integral part of our strategic direction. We are excited to see the growth of Collaborative Response structures and processes across all Grasslands schools but realize the work is not done. This year we will continue to increase our fidelity and intentionality with the exceptional support of Lorna and Kurtis ” said Scott Brandt, Superintendent of Schools.
For the past three years, our team has worked with Grasslands Public Schools to reintroduce and refine Collaborative Response across the system, following up on work introduced in the division nearly a decade ago. This support has included leadership day learning sessions, a divisional overview of Collaborative Response for all staff, ongoing individualized consultation for school and divisional leaders, and feedback for their collaborative team meetings.
