Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools to Continue Enhancing Collaborative Response with Multi-Layered Support Plan

Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools is set to advance the implementation and refinement of Collaborative Response across the district through a comprehensive support plan for Year 4. This initiative aims to deepen and enhance Collaborative Response practices to better support all schools within the district.

Key components of this year’s support plan include:

  • School Leadership Sessions: Two leadership sessions will be facilitated by Kurtis Hewson. These sessions will focus on examining and enhancing Collaborative Response practices, reviewing structures for the new school year, and discussing lessons learned and next steps.
  • Leadership Check-In Session: A 90-minute online session will take place in February/March to provide mid-year support and address ongoing needs.
  • Comprehensive School Collaborative Response Formative Feedback: Seven schools will receive detailed feedback on their Collaborative Response frameworks from October to May, including their meeting structures, data usage, and support continuums. Other school leaders will also be involved in the feedback process for collaborative learning.
  • Collaborative Response Membership: Each school will have renewed access to the Collaborative Response Membership, providing valuable resources and continuous professional learning support.

This multi-layered approach underscores Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools' commitment to advancing Collaborative Response practices and providing robust support to ensure successful implementation district-wide.

“We are excited to once again partner with Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools as they remain committed to advancing Collaborative Response practices, aimed at deepening implementation and enhancing practices across the district to ensure every school benefits from effective and sustained support,”

- Kurtis Hewson, Co-Founder, Jigsaw Learning

For the past three years, our team has worked with the Wetaskiwin Regional School Division to implement and refine Collaborative Response across the system. This support has included leadership day learning sessions, a divisional overview of Collaborative Response for all staff, ongoing individualized consultation for school and divisional leaders, and feedback for their collaborative team meetings.
