We know sustainable implementation is challenging - let us help you design a plan to move your organization forward!

Collaborative Response is a framework that values collaborative, action focused responses, data-informed discussions, and timely support to ensure all students can experience success while building the collective capacity of the team. Through the infusion of intentional structures and processes, Collaborative Response is simple in design but complex in execution, ensuring truly inclusive and collaborative learning environments are established and refined over time.

Leadership Cohorts

School Leadership Teams come together for a series of 4 sessions during the school year, focused on the essential components of Collaborative Response while engaging deeply in a planning cycle for schools. It also reinforces networking with other school leadership teams to share practices. This leadership network allows each school to establish a leadership team to engage deeply in all aspects of Collaborative Response while considering their own context and implementation phases. At the same time, these days provide opportunities to learn from the facilitators as well as their leadership colleagues, building capacity and momentum across all schools.
Workshops

Workshops focused on the many elements of Collaborative Response are provided to schools or districts based on their unique needs and context. The foundational components of collaborative structures and processes, data and evidence and continuum of supports are excellent topics to explore in depth. Additional topics such as facilitating team meetings, developing team goals, developing a continuum of supports and much more.
Leadership Consultations

Consultation sessions are established for school leaders, to support and assist in their implementation of Collaborative Response within their own school context. There are many intricacies in the understanding and implementation of the components and individual school coaching helps to contextualize the work and support the critical role of leaders when establishing and refining Collaborative Response over time. Consultation is provided by a Jigsaw Learning team member who has implemented Collaborative Response in their own school(s) and has experience supporting school leaders in implementation.

Overall School Feedback

The school feedback process is an excellent opportunity to work with one of our team members to receive feedback in relation to the school’s overall Collaborative Response framework, noting current celebrations and next steps for consideration.
Collaborative Team Meeting Facilitation

Facilitating collaborative team meetings can be challenging and has a high degree of iimpact on the success of your meeting. To ensure your team leaders understand the intricacies of facilitating, we can provide professional learning that engages your leaders in understanding the how of leading a collaborative team meeting.

Collaborative Team Meeting Feedback

As schools begin to implement Collaborative Response, evidence of their success can be obtained through the observation of Collaborative Team Meetings. Through face to face participation, online participation or recorded meetings, our team is able to review the Collaborative Team meeting, identify celebrations and effective processes as well as provide next steps or to fill in any gaps in understanding or shifts for future success. Specific, targeted feedback is provided for the growth and development of that particular team for the Collaborative Team Meeting, a collaborative structure essential to Collaborative Response. Divisional Collaborative Response

Just as schools establish Collaborative Response structures and processes to support and respond to the needs of students, school divisions develop a parallel process to respond to the needs of schools, in relation to divisional priorities. By engaging in a Collaborative Response framework at the divisional level, system leaders not only develop a robust framework to ensure system success in relation to key priorities, but also develop a deeper, lived understanding of Collaborative Response. Here is a written article, detailing the experience and success of this work in a southern Alberta school division (page 20-21).
Timetabling Support Session

Timetabling for layered collaborative structures can help ensure the Collaborative Structures and Processes are embedded in the school and time is provided for teams to regularly engage. This session focuses on philosophical considerations to be mindful of when establishing a master timetable, as well as individualized support to help envision what it could look like in each individualized school context.
Steering Team Coordination

The establishment of a Divisional Steering team provides direction and alignment to the implementation and progress of Collaborative Response across the division. The integration of Collaborative Response becomes a means for driving components of the strategic plan forward and aligns strategic direction for all schools across the system. The Steering Team also helps formulate the plans and expectations for sustainability of Collaborative Response across the system, responsible for providing direction for common expectations for schools moving forward, coordination of divisional supports and plans for onboarding new staff to the division on an ongoing basis.

Facilitated Book Study

A book study for the text Collaborative Response can allow a school and/or divisional staff to dive deeper into concepts explored in depth in relation to Collaborative Response, as well as see the literature and research connections referenced to support the work. An online book study guide (available for FREE with book purchase) has been developed to provide resources, activities and reflection questions when engaging with the text as a team.

Resource Development

Capturing your structures and processes through documentation can ensure sustainability for your school or district regardless of changes in leadership. We can work with your leadership team to document the critical components of your Collaborative Response.
