A valuable process led by Jigsaw Learning to examine, refine and enhance your school’s Collaborative Response structures and processes!
The Overall School Feedback process is intended to provide valuable feedback to school leadership teams. From the perspective of a critical friend focusing on the school’s Collaborative Response, this process will help to determine next steps to be considered for the organization. The Overall School Feedback process involves three phases:
Phase 1
Initial Consultation with School Leadership
(45 minutes)
The initial meeting with the school leadership team is intended to determine:
- An understanding of the review process and the deliverables to be expected
- The basic demographics of the school, to assist in understanding the context
- The structures and processes established in relation to Collaborative Response
- Key documents to be reviewed
- The successes currently being experienced by the school leadership team
- The current challenges or barriers being experienced
- Areas to focus on or questions to be asked during the school review day
- A schedule for the observation day, to guide the work of the Learning Associate
Phase 2
School Observation Day
The school observation day is an opportunity to engage with eyes and ears wide open. This review day involves:
- Opportunity to observe key structures/activities identified in the initial consultation (collaborative team meetings, other team meetings, interventions, flex/intervention periods, classroom instruction, etc.)
- Opportunity to meet (formally/informally) with key staff members to determine their thoughts related to the school’s Collaborative Response efforts
- Opportunity to review the use of Data and Evidence and any Continuums of Supports established for the school
- Efforts to gain a contextual understanding of the school and current reality
Following the school observation day, a written overview will be generated and provided to the school prior to the Leadership Debrief.
Phase 3
School Leadership Debrief
(1 hour)
Following the delivery of the Overall School Feedback report, a debrief session will be scheduled with the school leadership team to discuss the written overview and provide further feedback to assist in determining next steps for the school. The feedback report will include celebrations and considerations, with additional resources provided to support next steps for the school.
