Facilitating Effective Collaborative Team Meetings

Overview

Healthy and vibrant collaborative team meetings fuel innovation for how we address student needs and lead to approaches or ideas previously left unexamined or unimagined for individual staff members. A critically important factor that contributes to their success is effective facilitation. In this online course, you will learn how the collaborative team meeting differs from traditional meetings about students, the structures and processes critical for its success and how to most effectively facilitate these meetings to maximize impact!

Designed and facilitated by Lead Learner Kurtis Hewson, author of Collaborative Response: Three Foundational Components That Transform How We Respond to the Needs of Learners and Lead Learner/Co-Founder of Jigsaw Learning, this online course is intended to enhance skills and is not a substitute for a certificated program. Credits will not be granted nor is this online course transferable to any other learning institution. Upon completion of this online course, participants will be able to print a Certificate of Completion for their records.

  1. Recognize the purpose and focus of the Collaborative Team Meeting and how it differs from other layers of collaboration in Collaborative Response
  2. Identify the structural components that need to be established for Collaborative Team Meetings
  3. Identify strategies and tools that can be utilized and refined when facilitating a Collaborative Team Meeting



Completion Time

Each module in the course should take 15-60 minutes to complete, based on the specific content for the topic. Total completion time is approximately 3 hours.
