Edmonton Catholic Schools Partners with Jigsaw Learning to Deepen Collaborative Practices

Edmonton Catholic School Division is partnering with Jigsaw Learning to further strengthen inclusive practices and ensure support for every student through the implementation of Collaborative Response, a framework designed to build collective capacity and system-wide collaboration.

Through this partnership, senior leadership, school administrators, and staff teams across the division will engage in professional learning and collaborative planning to enhance how schools respond to the diverse needs of learners. Schools already engaged in the framework will continue to refine and deepen their practices, while a new cohort of schools will begin their Collaborative Response journey with tailored support and resources.

As part of the work, school leadership teams will participate in guided sessions, receive consultation and feedback to support ongoing implementation, and engage in system-wide collaboration designed to strengthen school cultures of support and collective efficacy. Leaders and staff will also gain access to a robust set of resources and tools to guide and sustain their efforts.

“Collaborative Response provides a clear and effective structure for schools to work together in meeting the needs of all students,” says Kurtis Hewson, co-creator of the framework and Lead Learner of Jigsaw Learning. “We are excited to continue our work with Edmonton Catholic Schools as they expand this approach across their system.”

This collaboration reflects Edmonton Catholic Schools’ commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments and Jigsaw Learning’s mission to support schools and divisions in building responsive and sustainable systems of support.
