Northern Gateway Public Schools Advances Collaborative Response and Inclusive Education

Northern Gateway Public Schools is continuing its partnership with Jigsaw Learning throughout the 2026–2027 school year with a broad focus on strengthening Collaborative Response, inclusive education, and Quality Learning Environments across the division. The work brings together system leaders, school teams, and learning support professionals to further connect the structures already in place and create clearer, more coordinated pathways for supporting students.

A significant part of the partnership will focus on reimagining inclusive education services, including professional learning and coaching for Inclusive Education Facilitators, consultation around the roles and access points within the department, and the development of a clearer referral process for accessing supports from schools to the division. Jigsaw Learning will also provide ongoing coaching for the Learning Services Coordinator, support Directors with Quality Learning Environment planning, facilitate divisional professional learning, and provide targeted Collaborative Response support to schools as requested. Schools and leaders will have continued access to Collaborative Response resources and professional learning through Jigsaw Learning's membership, along with WeCollab implementation support and opportunities to participate in the Collaborative Response Retreat.

“What's exciting about this work is that it looks at the connections between the different pieces of a system rather than treating them as separate initiatives,” said Lorna Hewson, Co-Founder of Jigsaw Learning. “When inclusive education, Quality Learning Environments, and Collaborative Response are intentionally aligned, educators can have greater clarity about who provides support, how that support is accessed, and how teams work together around student needs. We are looking forward to partnering with Northern Gateway as they continue to shape these systems for the future.”
