Northland School Division is continuing its Collaborative Response journey with Jigsaw Learning during the 2026–2027 school year, with this year's work centered on strengthening practice across schools while also developing a more connected divisional approach. The partnership will bring together school administrators, principals, senior leaders, and Jigsaw Learning consultants to examine how Collaborative Response can be refined and sustained in ways that reflect the needs of Northland's diverse schools and communities.
School administrators will participate in a series of leadership sessions designed to explore deeper implementation, while principals will have access to individualized consultation to work through school-specific questions and priorities. A significant component of the year will be comprehensive formative feedback for schools, providing an opportunity to look closely at the full Collaborative Response framework and identify practical areas for growth. At the divisional level, senior leaders will work with Jigsaw Learning to establish a more coordinated approach for supporting schools. New staff will also have access to introductory learning, while school teams will continue to draw on Jigsaw Learning's resources and Collaborative Response Membership.
This year's partnership also introduces a pilot of WeCollab, giving selected schools an opportunity to connect their Collaborative Response practices with a digital system for recording student-related notes, actions, and supports. “Northland has reached an important point in its Collaborative Response work where the focus can expand from individual implementation to how the division can intentionally support and connect that work across schools,” said Kurtis Hewson, Lead Learner and Co-Founder of Jigsaw Learning. “We are looking forward to learning alongside Northland leaders and schools as they examine their current practices, identify what will make the greatest difference, and build systems that can support this work over the long term.”
