Jigsaw Learning Congratulates Jennifer Ferguson on Her New Leadership Role

May 23, 2025 — Jigsaw Learning proudly celebrates the appointment of Jennifer Ferguson as Assistant Principal at Hilltop High School/Gateway Academy within Northern Gateway Public Schools.

Jennifer’s appointment represents more than a new chapter—it marks a powerful return to school-based leadership in the division where her career began. With years of experience across a variety of roles, Jennifer cultivated a deep understanding of instructional leadership, systems thinking, and student support. Her time at Northern Gateway Public Schools and Jigsaw Learning has allowed her to lead, learn, and innovate at every level.

This new role brings her journey full circle: from supporting schools in implementing Collaborative Response to being a key resource in supporting the implementation and sustained use of WeCollab to now being part of a team leading the work directly within a school context. It is a testament to the power of collaborative principles in developing leadership capacity and sustaining educational excellence. Jennifer’s path reflects Jigsaw Learning’s mission to build capacity in schools and districts by supporting the implementation of Collaborative Response, grounded in connection, relationships, and authentic collaboration to ensure success for all learners.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside the inspiring team at Jigsaw Learning and the many dedicated educators we’ve partnered with through this work. The relationships, learning, and collaboration have deeply shaped my perspective and practice. This new role feels like a continuation of that journey—joining a school community already committed to Collaborative Response and actively using WeCollab. With a strong and established foundation, I am excited to deepen collaborative practices and help sustain a culture of connection, responsiveness, and shared leadership to support every learner.” - Jennifer Ferguson

As a key contributor to the WeCollab platform, Jennifer has played an instrumental role in helping shape a digital solution that supports schools in implementing Collaborative Response with clarity and consistency. While she transitions into her new position, we want to reassure all our valued partners that WeCollab will continue to thrive. Under the leadership of Kurtis and Lorna Hewson, co-founders of Jigsaw Learning, WeCollab will remain a robust, evolving platform—actively supported by our expert team and shaped by feedback from educators across the country.

Jennifer will continue to provide support to the WeCollab team during non-school hours, offering insights, addressing enhancements, and helping guide future development to ensure the system remains intuitive, responsive, and aligned with the needs of collaborative teams.

“Jen has been such an integral member of our Jigsaw Learning family for a very long time and has been instrumental in the development of the WeCollab platform, as well as an invaluable resource for all our partners. Although Jen will still be a valuable member of our Jigsaw Learning and WeCollab team, we recognize she will assume a reduced role as she directs her time and energy to her new administrative role. We wish her all the best and know she is going to be highly successful in her new position!” - Kurtis Hewson

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer for her invaluable contributions to Jigsaw Learning and to the ongoing success of WeCollab. Her expertise, compassion, and collaborative spirit have left a lasting mark. We are excited to watch her continue to make a difference in her new role and look forward to the many ways our paths will continue to intersect in the future.
