Peace River School Division (PRSD) is building on its commitment to student success by continuing to refine Collaborative Response practices across all schools in the 2025–2026 school year. In partnership with Kurtis Hewson and the Jigsaw Learning team, PRSD is continuing to implement a multi-layered support plan designed to strengthen collaborative structures and processes at both the school and division levels.
Key elements of the plan include:
- Attendance at an Overview of Collaborative Response Workshop for new PRSD staff to gain foundational understanding.
- School Leadership Sessions — two half-day in-person sessions focused on refining Collaborative Response practices and strengthening leadership teams.
- Individualized Support for Every School — each school will access online tailored support from the Jigsaw Learning team, which may include feedback on Collaborative Team Meetings, Data and Evidence processes, or the Continuum of Supports, as well as coaching, consultation, PD sessions, or WeCollab integration.
- Formative Feedback for Three Schools — including pre-visit consultations, full-day engagement, written feedback, and follow-up debriefs with school and senior leaders.
- Collaborative Response Membership — all schools will continue to receive access, providing leaders with ongoing resources, professional learning, and implementation tools.
“Peace River School Division continues to demonstrate its strong focus on building cultures of collaboration and support,” noted Kurtis Hewson, co-creator of Collaborative Response. “This multi-layered approach will not only strengthen school-based practices but also build collective capacity across the division.”
For the past seven years, Jigsaw Learning has worked with the Peace River School Division to implement and refine Collaborative Response across the system. This support has engaged divisional staff at all levels, including several divisional days dedicated specifically to understanding and sustaining Collaborative Response for all staff in the organization.
