Following Through with Commitments

Are you having a tough time creating a coherent and cohesive to-do list from all the different meetings you attend? As a leader, are you wishing you could better understand the workload of your staff and support them in following through with their commitments?

WeCollab will automatically compile actions from all meeting types into a manageable and searchable list.

From the actions menu in WeCollab, individual users will have an expandable “My Actions” bar that will show all the actions (commitments!) made during various meetings. Those with School Leader status in the system will also have an expandable “School Actions” bar. These bars have indicators to show how many current (within this school year) and past (previous school years) actions have been identified.

Expanding on the My Actions bar will bring up the entire list of current and past actions. It will show the action itself, the expected completion date, the actual completion date, the associated students (if applicable), and the most recent comment made about the action.

These actions are searchable by status, date, student name, keywords in the action… Really, whatever organization might help to look at one’s to-do list is possible! Columns can be sorted within the software or within the downloadable CSV file. For those who like to “check off” their lists, a PDF can also be downloaded and printed!

The School Actions bar is intended for leaders to be able to see at a glance what is happening in the school through the meetings that are recorded. Expanding this bar looks similar to the My Actions expansion with the addition of the column that shows the person responsible for following through with their commitments.

This section is also searchable and downloadable, so leaders can check in at their convenience (from their desk while in the building, their couch at home while in their PJs, wherever and whenever!

Similar action areas exist in each student profile as well, where the actions for the individual student are collected and organized.

Beyond being able to organize the lists, one of the most effective features of the action area is the transparent communication it can provide. Staff are provided weekly emails that include overdue and upcoming actions. By updating actions and making comments associated with these commitments as they are followed through on, leaders are able to understand the impact staff are having on students. Colleagues are able to learn from one another about students, even when they are not in meetings together, or even when the student has changed grades or schools. This communication has the capacity be expedited by staying in the know regarding students of immediate concern through subscriptions.

No one wants to not do what they said they would. No one wants to leave students or staff floundering where support could be provided. WeCollab has incredible potential in to support educators in following through with commitments via practical and efficient features within the system, designed by educators for educators.
